Cleo CEO Sarahjane Sacchetti speaks out on the reversal of Roe v. Wade

We will continue to provide members with unbiased and empathetic support every step of the way.

The Supreme Court of the United States’s recent decision to overturn the precedent previously established by Roe v. Wade is a massive step back for reproductive rights and access to basic healthcare. Access to abortion is healthcare, and as such, should be treated as a conversation and decision by a patient and provider.

Fundamental to Cleo’s philosophy and approach is that the health of a family rests on its caregivers’ well-being. And maintaining that well-being first and foremost requires choice and safety in reproductive care. As new and further restrictions on abortion in the United States continue to unfold, our support of our members’ access to care is constant. We will continue to provide members with unbiased and empathetic support every step of the way.

I am humbled to be in a position to take action for Cleo’s employees, members, and clients. The work ahead will be complex, yet vitally important to all birthing people and their families in the communities we touch. I want to thank every leader speaking out and taking action, and invite more of you into activation on behalf of your communities as well.

At moments like this that hit so deeply, our actions can often feel too small, but at any and every scale this work matters. Healthcare, choice, and safety aren’t political issues—they’re basic human rights. Onwards.
