Danielle is a 48-year-old woman and a member of the Sandwich Generation.
She has a teenage daughter and is caring for her aging mother. She’s come to realize that her menopause symptoms are impacting her day to day activities.

Danielle learns about Cleo from an email her company sent out. She enrolls in Cleo and selects menopause support for herself.
After enrolling, Danielle takes an in-app assessment to let her Guide know what she needs support with. This includes the physical symptoms she’s experiencing, as well as the emotional drain she’s realizing is affecting her life at home and at work.
The Family Health Index is Cleo’s proprietary quantitative caregiver health assessment. It measures family health across seven dimensions, allowing Cleo to analyze and be proactive about the specific areas in which members need support.

Danielle sees in her Cleo app that her Support Plan has been updated with her assessment results. She’s able to see everything Cleo recommends in one place, and keep track of her progress as she works toward her goals.
Her Support Plan includes care for herself and her menopause symptoms, but also how to cope with the changing landscape of parenting a teenager and caring for an aging adult at the same time.
Support Plans are dynamic, personalized task management for Cleo members. Members can view recommended next steps for connection and support both inside and outside of Cleo, in bite-sized, manageable steps.

Danielle is connected to a Menopause Specialist within Cleo, and schedules a call to talk through symptoms, as well as possible ways to cope and get relief.
Her Menopause Specialist helps Danielle find a practical way to track her symptoms in order to have data to bring to her next appointment.
Cleo Guides are Cleo members’ front door access to Cleo’s robust and holistic support. When they see a need for specialized support in a particular area, they connect members with Cleo Specialists, who members can access at no charge and with unlimited sessions and messaging.
Cleo Specialists encompass more than 20 major focus areas, such as menopause, development, grief, cancer, chronic conditions, sleep, and more.

Danielle’s Cleo Specialist also recognizes her need for clinical menopause support, as she could benefit from medication. Cleo’s internal Care Activity Team finds and schedules her an appointment with a Certified Menopause Practitioner OB GYN and Acupuncturist.
The Care Activity Team also schedules an initial appointment on Danielle’s behalf with a new in-network therapist specializing in menopause, to ensure that her emotional needs are being met, too — especially as she has other caregiving responsibilities outside of herself.
Finally, the Care Activity Team helps set up both a home safety assessment as well as a meal delivery service for Danielle’s mother, so that Danielle can be assured that her mother is safe and receiving healthy meals as Danielle focuses on her own health.
Cleo’s Care Activity Team researches, schedules, and completes tasks on behalf of members. This team takes the actual work of task completion related to caregiving and self-care off of members’ plates, and actively follows up with the member to ensure they accessed the care and were able to weave the care into their daily life.

Danielle has already been feeling better, now having a plan and having been connected to so much holistic support. She’s also been exploring the Cleo app and reading content such as “Understanding the Stages of Menopause” to be prepared for what might be up ahead, as well as “Tips for Talking about Menopause” to share with both her family and her workplace.
She reports that her mother is doing well, and that she feels much more secure having completed the home safety assessment.
She’s also able to read an article called “How to Connect with Your Teenager,” which has great tips on how to adjust her conversations with her daughter now that she’s in a different age group and mindset.

After reading more in the Cleo app about how to talk about menopause, Danielle finds herself wanting to compare notes with other people her age going through menopause.
She joins a Cleo Connect for Menopause group, guided by a Cleo Menopause Specialist, to talk to others who are also going through menopause and caregiving at the same time.
Cleo Connects are a series of community-driven virtual meetings, giving parent and caregiver cohorts the ability to directly connect with each other. Cleo Connects are grouped based on Cleo members going through similar experiences or at similar stages of life journeys.

Danielle’s symptoms are now managed, and her Family Health Index score is much higher across all dimensions — particularly around mental health, physical health, confidence and connection. Cleo has provided her with practical expertise, connections to in-network clinical care, emotional support, communication support, task completion, and community connection. She feels much more in control of her symptoms, knowing what to expect and where to turn should additional needs arise.
Thanks to Cleo’s care, Danielle has avoided absenteeism and a formal leave of absence, avoided unnecessary visits to the emergency room, and avoided presenteeism at work as she dealt with her issues. Her emotional and physical health has vastly improved, and she’s now more in control of her physical and emotional health to put more energy towards work and taking care of the rest of her family.
