Emily is a 33-year-old new mom. Emily’s daughter was born premature after Emily was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 32 weeks. She is now home with her baby and navigating new motherhood outside of the NICU.
Emily enrolled in Cleo when she was 12 weeks pregnant and was matched with a Cleo Guide, Alexandra, who is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula. In her first few months of Cleo support, Emily:
Cleo’s Care Activity Team helps Emily secure a local doula to attend her birth. The team researches doulas that fit Emily’s requirements and evaluates them for ratings and cost. After sending an initial list to Emily, the team helps her set up interviews and then advises her on making a final decision that helps her feel comfortable and empowered.
When Emily’s preeclampsia does not respond to medical intervention, her medical team prepares her for an induction, which means a NICU stay for her soon-to-be-born premature baby. Emily messages her Cleo Guide for guidance.

Emily’s Guide jumps into action and sets up a call with Cleo’s Hospital Stay Specialist who is a Certified Child Life Specialist. On this call, the specialist covers:

Emily gives birth and starts her month-long stay in the NICU with her daughter. During her time in the hospital, Cleo continues to support Emily in her parenting and recovery journey. She has 1:1 lactation sessions and weekly calls with Cleo’s Hospital Stay Specialist.

When the day comes to bring her baby home, Emily is prepared thanks to Cleo’s help.
Feeding: 1:1 weekly lactation sessions and class on introducing solids at 6 month adjusted age
Sleep: Group sleep class to learn about what is developmentally appropriate
Emotional Wellness: 6-week health and wellbeing coaching group class to identify personal goals and ways to reach them
Work Transition: 1:1 career coaching session to prepare for a gradual return to work including creating a 30-60-90 day plan
Led by Cleo’s coaches, this six-week group education series covers:

More than just a placement service, Cleo helps members find the best fit for child care. Emily talks to a Child Care Specialist who helps her identify the type of daycare that best fits her needs. The Cleo team then sources three local in-home day care providers and sets up tours on Emily’s behalf.
When Emily returns to work, she is relieved to know her child is in good hands thanks to Cleo’s help.
Cleo knows that one of the best resources for new parents is other new parents. Cleo Connects are weekly sessions, led by a Cleo specialist, that provide opportunities for peer support.
Emily joins a postpartum Cleo Connect and gets tips and tricks from fellow Cleo members for things like sleep and returning to work, and gets reassurance when she is worried about milestones.

Emily continues connecting with her Cleo Guide as she navigates parenthood. When Emily has a question about her daughter’s milestones, she has a trusted source to turn to. With secure child care and the support of other parents, Emily is able to return to work with a renewed sense of purpose and energy. Thanks to Cleo’s care, Emily can avoid burnout and absenteeism as a working mother building both a career and a family.
